9E Global is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer - Site to join our growing team in the UAE.
The role will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring mechanical works on site, ensuring installations are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, applicable codes, and project requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to monitor workmanship, quality, progress, and compliance throughout the construction phase.
The successful candidate will conduct site inspections and witness testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, pumps, and other mechanical equipment. The role will also involve reviewing inspection requests, shop drawings, material submissions, and test records; identifying defects and non-conforming works; coordinating with other disciplines; following up on corrective actions; and supporting snagging, testing, commissioning, final inspections, and the successful handover of the project.
Qualifications
- Qualified graduate engineer in Mechanical Engineering. Master's Degree/Chartered Engineering status is a plus.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering consultancy firms, including substantial site experience.
- Good understanding of UAE/GCC codes, standards, and regulations applicable to mechanical systems and building services.
Business Development
- Develop a network of contacts on each contract. Concentrate on developing a unified commitment of excellence in dealing with site and design team colleagues.
Project Role
- Monitor and inspect mechanical installations to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Supervise contractors and coordinate daily mechanical site activities.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests.
- Inspect HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems.
- Coordinate mechanical works with MEP and other project disciplines to resolve site issues.
- Witness testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Identify defects, non-conforming works, and incomplete installations and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support snagging, final inspections, documentation, and successful project handover.
- Perform mechanical engineering calculations and system design from concept through detailed design.
- Design HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, and smoke management systems.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and engineering studies.
- Support equipment selection and system sizing.
- Ensure designs comply with project requirements, applicable codes, and standards.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, structural, and other disciplines.
Company Role

Engineering Function
- Agree design philosophy/design fundamentals.
- Review and comment on deliverables produced by Engineers & Technicians at key stages through a project.
- Demonstrates all round technical competence.
- Have knowledge of concept design, buildability, detailed design, construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment and claim assessment.
- Have knowledge of analytical concepts.
- Should be responsible for Quality Management (QA) for their team.
- Have knowledge of our delivery in CAD standards and 3D working.
QHSE Responsibilities
- Understand, implement and follow 9E QHSE policies.
- Implement and coordinate QHSE procedures in your workplace.
- Comply with local regulatory authority guidelines and laws pertaining to QHSE.
- Report any QHSE incidents immediately to 9E QHSE Dept. and to legal authorities if required.
- Abide Client/Contractor QHSE requirements and acquire site induction before mobilizing at sites.
