Mechanical Design Engineer
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and constraints.
Design sheet metal products and components using CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
Develop detailed drawings, models, and prototypes for manufacturing.
Conduct feasibility studies and analyze design proposals for cost-effectiveness, functionality, and manufacturability.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve design-related issues during production.
Perform design iterations and improvements based on feedback and testing results.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sheet metal design.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience as a Design Engineer in the sheet metal industry.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including bending, cutting, welding, and finishing.
Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and codes related to sheet metal design.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural analysis of sheet metal components.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
