DescriptionJOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Oversee the planning, coordination, execution, testing, calibration, integration, commissioning, and handover of instrumentation and control systems for new-build offshore jack-up drilling rigs, including process
instrumentation, control valves, Fire & Gas systems, ESD/SIS systems, drilling instrumentation, HVAC/BMS instrumentation, and monitoring systems, to achieve safe and reliable system operation, regulatory and class
compliance, operational readiness, and successful project delivery and client acceptance.
Key AccountabilitiesLead the development and implementation of instrumentation commissioning plans, procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, schedules, and resource requirements to ensure efficient
execution and achievement of commissioning milestones.
Direct the commissioning, testing, calibration, verification, and startup of instrumentation systems, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, vibration monitoring, and associated field devices, to ensure operational
reliability and compliance with design requirements.
Lead the functional testing, integration, and performance verification of control valves, actuators, Fire & Gas systems, ESD/SIS loops, and critical safety instrumented functions to ensure safe and dependable facility
operations.
Oversee loop checks, calibration activities, functional testing, energization, FATs, SATs, and system performance verification to confirm instrument integrity, control functionality, and readiness for operation.
Manage commissioning interfaces among engineering, construction, operations, OEM vendors, client representatives, and classification societies to facilitate technical resolution, commissioning readiness, and
seamless system integration.
Oversee the commissioning and integration of drilling instrumentation, HVAC/BMS controls, monitoring systems, and auxiliary instrumentation packages to ensure optimum system performance and operational
effectiveness.
Direct commissioning activities in accordance with project specifications, API, IEC, classification society requirements, and quality standards to ensure full compliance and successful certification.
Promote and enforce compliance with permit-to-work systems, SIMOPS requirements, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and project HSE procedures to maintain a safe commissioning and energization environment.
Oversee the preparation, review, and closeout of commissioning documentation, including check sheets, loop folders, test reports, red-line markups, vendor reports, ITRs, MC/RFCC/RFOC certificates, and handover
dossiers to ensure documentation completeness and traceability.
Direct punch-list management, construction-to-commissioning transitions, readiness assessments, as-built documentation, O&M manual development, and final handover activities to ensure operational readiness and
successful project completion.
