A premium early childhood education organization in New Cairo is seeking an experienced IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator to lead the implementation and continued development of its PYP Early Years programme for children aged 3–6.
The organization is currently progressing through its IB PYP candidacy journey, making this a key educational leadership appointment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, educators, and external IB support to ensure that PYP philosophy, curriculum planning, professional learning, documentation, and classroom practice are implemented consistently and authentically.
This is a hands-on academic leadership role, requiring both strong knowledge of IB requirements and the ability to translate the PYP framework into high-quality everyday teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities Lead PYP implementation across the Early Years programme.
* Coordinate and support the school's IB candidacy and authorization journey.
* Lead development and review of the Programme of Inquiry (POI) and PYP unit planners.
* Facilitate collaborative planning and reflection meetings.
* Coach teachers in inquiry-based, concept-driven and child-centred practice.
* Strengthen implementation of the Learner Profile, Approaches to Learning, agency, action and reflection*.
* Conduct classroom observations and provide developmental feedback.
* Monitor alignment between curriculum documentation and actual classroom practice.
* Coordinate PYP-related professional development and teacher support.
* Maintain organized evidence and documentation required for IB consultation and authorization.
* Support development and implementation of relevant policies, curriculum documentation, scope and sequence, and assessment practices.
* Work with specialist teachers to strengthen programme integration.
* Support leadership in identifying implementation gaps and establishing improvement actions.
* Contribute to parent understanding and communication regarding the PYP.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
* Previous professional experience within an IB PYP school is required.
* Strong practical understanding of PYP planning, inquiry, assessment and collaborative planning.
* Experience supporting or leading teachers within an IB environment.
* Excellent English communication skills.
* Strong organizational, documentation and leadership capabilities.*
Previous experience as a PYP Coordinator, Assistant PYP Coordinator or senior PYP leader is strongly preferred. Experience with IB candidacy, authorization or evaluation and relevant IB-recognized professional development would be a significant advantage.
