We are looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to lead procurement, warehousing, and logistics activities within an industrial manufacturing environment.
The role requires a strong procurement leader with hands-on experience in industrial sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiation, materials management, international procurement, and trade operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement activities and sourcing strategies for industrial materials, equipment, spare parts, chemicals, consumables, and services.
- Develop and optimize the supplier base to improve cost, quality, delivery, and overall vendor performance.
- Lead commercial negotiations and manage high-value, critical, and urgent procurement requirements.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material handling, inventory control, and issuance.
- Manage international procurement and inbound logistics, including customs and port clearance.
- Oversee customs documentation, duty exemptions, letters of credit, and relevant banking formalities.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and coordinate effectively with operations, engineering, logistics providers, and relevant authorities.
- Monitor market and economic trends that may impact material and service costs.
- Drive continuous improvement across procurement, materials management, and logistics processes.
- Lead, coach, and develop the team while ensuring effective performance management and succession planning.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of overall experience, including at least 5 years of relevant experience within an industrial environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; relevant degrees in Commerce, Materials/Supply Management, Management, or Business Management may also be considered.
- Strong experience in industrial procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier selection, and commercial negotiation.
- Strong knowledge of international procurement, imports, customs procedures, warehousing, inventory management, and logistics.
- Thorough knowledge of hazardous chemical imports/exports and related customs and banking procedures.
- Experience within chemical manufacturing, petrochemicals, industrial manufacturing, or industrial operations involving hazardous materials is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, negotiation, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Arabic and English preferred.
