Job DescriptionAbout Avli by tashas
Avli by tashas brings the warmth, generosity and spirit of the Mediterranean to the world of Tashas Group. Beautiful food, thoughtful detail and a sense of effortless hospitality come together to create an experience that feels both refined and inviting.
We are looking for a Head Chef who shares this passion for creating memorable experiences through food, and who understands that great kitchens are built as much on people and culture as they are on precision and performance.
Your Mission
As Head Chef, you will lead the kitchen at Avli by tashas, ensuring every dish reflects the quality, consistency and care that define the brand.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, from preparation and service to food safety, stock management and cost control. More importantly, you will lead, coach and inspire your team to take pride in what they do and continually raise the standard.
You will be a hands-on leader who leads from the front — calm under pressure, generous with knowledge and uncompromising when it comes to quality.
What Youll Do
Lead the Kitchen
- * Oversee the day-to-day kitchen operation, ensuring every service is organised, efficient and consistent.
- Lead the pass during service, ensuring dishes are prepared, plated and delivered to the highest standards.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of all recipes, preparation methods and plating across the kitchen.
- Ensure all stations are fully prepared, equipped and ready for service.
- Work closely with the General Manager and Culinary Director to continually improve kitchen performance and the guest experience.
Champion Quality
- * Uphold the standards of food quality, presentation, freshness and consistency across every service.
- Ensure all food is prepared, stored and handled in accordance with HACCP, food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Check the quality of deliveries and ensure ingredients meet brand standards before entering the kitchen.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and equipment care throughout the kitchen.
Build and Develop Your Team
- * Lead, coach and develop the culinary team, creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged and inspired to grow.
- Ensure every team member understands our recipes, standards and ways of working.
- Build flexibility and depth within the kitchen by developing team members across different sections.
- Give clear, constructive feedback and recognise people for their contribution and achievements.
- Support onboarding, mentorship and ongoing training, helping new team members feel part of the Avli family from the beginning.
Drive the Business
- * Manage food preparation and production in line with sales, demand and business requirements.
- Monitor stock levels, ordering and consumption to minimise waste and support healthy food costs.
- Create and maintain production plans and prep levels that enable an efficient service.
- Manage kitchen schedules, rotas and staffing in line with operational needs and budgets.
- Work with the wider leadership team to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
Bring Curiosity and Creativity
- * Stay curious about the culinary world, bringing fresh ideas, techniques and inspiration to the kitchen.
- Support the Culinary Director with menu development, new dishes and special projects.
- Help evolve the Avli experience while respecting the integrity and identity of the brand.
- Keep learning, sharing knowledge and looking for ways to make the food, the kitchen and the team better.
Who You Are
You are an experienced Head Chef and a natural leader. You care deeply about food, but you also understand that hospitality is about people.
You Bring
- * Proven experience leading a professional kitchen, ideally within a premium or high-end hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, quality control and cost management.
- A genuine passion for beautiful, considered food and consistently high standards.
- Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP and hygiene requirements.
- The ability to remain calm, focused and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
- A hands-on and collaborative leadership style.
- Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to coach and develop others.
- Curiosity, resilience and a constant desire to improve.
What Youll Love
Being part of Tashas Group means being surrounded by people who care deeply about what they do.
You’ll have the opportunity to lead one of our distinctive culinary teams at Avli by tashas, working alongside passionate people across Culinary, Operations and the wider Group.
Our culture is built around attention to detail, generosity, teamwork, leadership, excellence, delivery, quality, sustainability and innovation — values that shape not only how we work, but how we make our guests feel.
At the heart of it all is Inspired Hospitality: beautiful food made with love and purpose, stunning environments that tell stories, and engaging service that is heartfelt, considered and quietly confident.
