Cota Robotics puts robots to work in retail stores. They take on the repetitive, time-consuming jobs like inbounding goods, replenishing shelves and sorting stock, currently mostly overnight. They're driven from our control room in Stockholm and increasingly run on their own. We raised a €1.92M pre-seed in August 2026 and are live with retailers in Sweden and Finland. We're a small team based at Sankt Eriksgatan in Stockholm, where half the office is our own dark store.
The role
We design and assemble our own robot platform in-house. It's CE-marked and working in customer stores, and it's far from done. You'll own the physical robot: from concept and CAD through prototyping and 3D printing to manufacturing and assembly at scale. You'll see your work running in stores within weeks.
What you'll do
- Concept and visualize new products and subsystems
- Model structures, mechanisms and enclosures in CAD
- Prototype rapidly and iterate from what you see in stores
- Design for manufacturing and assembly, and take designs through to production
- Apply solid hardware fundamentals: GD&T, tolerances, tooling, material selection
- Move fast
What we're looking for
- Attitude first: high agency, you spot the problem and ship the fix without being told
- A strong track record in hardware design, or an unreasonable appetite to build one
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, unfinished environment where the plan changes
- Ready for long weeks when it matters and demos that have to work tomorrow
- Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus
- You must already have the right to work in Sweden, as unfortunately we're not able to offer visa sponsorship at our current stage
Why join
- A founding role with ownership of the hardware
- Meaningful equity
- See your designs running in real stores within weeks
- Shape the next version of the robot
