Isteel Engineering Trading can fabricate up to 1,500 metric tons of structural steel and pre-engineered components per month, including painted steel frames, galvanized members, and panels. This strong production capacity enables the company to support a wide range of complex and large-scale projects.
Role Description The Fabrication Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication process for structural steel and pre-engineered components, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing engineering drawings, preparing cutting and fabrication plans, coordinating with production teams, and monitoring workflow on the shop floor. The role also involves troubleshooting fabrication issues, optimizing material usage, and collaborating with quality control and maintenance teams to maintain smooth operations. This is a full-time, on-site role based at the manufacturing facility in Doha, Qatar, requiring regular interaction with engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
Qualifications
- Experience in structural steel fabrication, including interpretation of engineering drawings and detailing for steel frames and secondary members.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, bending, and assembling steel components, with a focus on production efficiency.
- Familiarity with quality control standards, inspection procedures, and adherence to safety regulations in a fabrication or industrial environment.
- Ability to use relevant engineering and fabrication tools or software (e.g., CAD programs, nesting or production planning tools) to support shop-floor activities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in steel fabrication.
- Previous experience in steel structures or pre-engineered building projects, preferably in a high-capacity fabrication facility, is an advantage.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse, multicultural environment.
