About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented the Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, technical proposals, and tender documentation for HVAC equipment. The role ensures all quotations are technically compliant, commercially competitive, and aligned with project specifications to support sales and business development.
Responsibilities
- Tender Review — Study project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to determine HVAC requirements.
- Equipment Selection — Select chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ducted splits, condensing units, and package units based on cooling load and design criteria.
- Cost Estimation — Prepare detailed cost estimates including equipment, accessories, materials, and optional items.
- BOQ Preparation — Develop Bills of Quantities for HVAC equipment and related components.
- Technical Proposal Development — Prepare compliance statements, datasheets, and technical submissions for consultants and contractors.
- Quotation Preparation — Generate competitive pricing aligned with company margin guidelines.
- Supplier Coordination — Obtain pricing for components, accessories, and outsourced items.
- Sales Support — Provide technical clarifications and support during tender negotiations.
- Documentation Control — Maintain updated price lists, catalogs, and estimation templates.
- Market Competitiveness Analysis — Review competitor specifications and pricing to ensure competitive offers.
- Risk Identification — Highlight technical or commercial risks in tenders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5+ years of experience in HVAC estimation (manufacturing or MEP contracting).
- Experience in UAE/GCC market preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems: chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ducted splits, package units.
- Ability to read MEP drawings, HVAC layouts, and project specifications.
- Understanding of cooling load basics, static pressure calculations, and material take-offs.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, and UAE HVAC standards.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and estimation tools
