Tacton builds software that the world’s largest manufacturing companies depend on to sell and deliver their most complex products. Our solutions are ranked #1 in the world by Gartner and use proprietary technology with roots in cutting-edge computer science research.
Our engineering organization is entering a new chapter: we’re broadening our product through acquisitions and organic development, changing how we build software by scaling through smaller long-lived teams, and putting AI agents to work across the development process. We’re now looking for an Engineering Manager to help drive this change — a people leadership role for someone who hasn’t stopped being an engineer at heart.
What You’ll DoLead and grow the people
- Own teams. Take responsibility for up to ~15 engineers, manage performance, growth and wellbeing.
- Coach and develop. Run high-quality 1:1s and genuinely help move careers forward.
- Set the tone. Build a culture where engineers feel safe, trusted and motivated to do their best work.
Own delivery, end to end
- * Ship reliably. Support your teams in delivering high-quality software, balancing technical excellence and time to market.
- Push ownership outward. Help drive the shift to teams owning their software all the way to production.
- Connect the dots. Work closely with R&D, Product Management and other stakeholders to stay aligned.
Help lead the transformation
- * Change how we work. Be a key contributor to Tacton’s organizational vision and ways of working in the emerging world of AI-native software development.
What We’re Looking For
- * Proven experience leading 10+ engineers, with the full spectrum of people management: hiring, coaching, performance, career development.
- A genuine technical background, able to engage credibly with engineers.
- Experience driving real organizational change in engineering teams, not just observing it.
- Practical experience with AI in software engineering, at both developer and leadership level.
- Experience from companies of comparable scale to Tacton — navigating complexity without big-enterprise resources.
- Strong communication skills, with real empathy and a low-friction, high-trust style.
- Strategic and business-minded, comfortable making trade-offs in ambiguous situations.
The Recruitment Process
- * Screening call with our Global Talent Acquisition Partner
- First interview with the hiring managers
- Online personality test and logical ability test
- Second interview round: “rapid fire” format, several short interviews
- Grandparent interview
- References and background check
Why Tacton
- * A solid and stable company with over 20 years of success in its industry.
- An industry-leading product, ranked #1 by Gartner for four years running.
- A deeply technical product combining symbolic AI and LLM AI with a rich enterprise-grade SaaS platform.
- A strong engineering culture that invests in developer experience and modern ways of working.
Benefits
- * Flexible hybrid setup – 3x a week at the office.
- 33 days of paid time off – 30 vacation days plus 3 extra.
- Premium occupational pension – beyond ITP1, with higher contributions by age and salary.
- Generous wellness allowance – 5,000 SEK annually.
- Private healthcare insurance – quick access to specialist care.
- Parental leave top-up – up to 90% of base salary for up to 6 months.
- Weekly treats – Fika one week, breakfast the next.
