The organisation is actively building a new media investment platform while overseeing a broad range of private investment opportunities and a substantial portfolio of operating businesses in the UK and the Middle East. Job Description
- * Screen and evaluate investment opportunities across media, private investments and portfolio company transactions.
- Build financial models and valuation analyses from the ground up, including businesses with complex or informal financial information.
- Lead end-to-end due diligence processes, including data room management, advisor coordination, reference checks and financial analysis
- Structure and support negotiations on investment terms, shareholder agreements, earn-outs and commercial arrangements.
- Prepare concise investment papers and recommendations for senior stakeholders and investment committees.
- Manage transaction execution and support post-investment integration and value creation initiatives.
- Monitor portfolio performance, prepare board and performance reporting materials, and support refinancing, acquisition and disposal activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with founders, management teams, advisors and investment counterparties.
- Assess investment opportunities across a variety of asset classes and sectors, providing commercial recommendations to senior principals
- Support portfolio companies operationally where required, including on-site business assessments and problem-solving initiatives.
The Successful ApplicantA successful Investment Director should have:
- 10-15 years' experience within private equity, principal investing, family offices, investment management or a related investment environment, focusing on media, technology or consumer sectors
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business or a related discipline; advanced professional qualifications are advantageous
- Demonstrated experience executing both minority and control investment transactions.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and investment analysis capabilities.
- Proven ability to lead due diligence processes and manage complex transactions independently.
- Experience working directly with founders, business owners and senior stakeholders.
- Strong judgement, commercial acumen and decision-making skills.
