Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design process from concept development through construction and project handover.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure design integration and constructability.
- Review and monitor architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings to identify potential clashes and design issues.
- Lead design coordination meetings and ensure timely resolution of design-related matters.
- Review consultant submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, contract specifications, local regulations, and authority approvals.
- Collaborate closely with project management and site teams to support construction activities and resolve engineering challenges.
- Manage design deliverables and ensure adherence to approved project schedules.
- Monitor design changes and assess their impact on cost, quality, and project timelines.
- Support value engineering initiatives and identify opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Liaise with government authorities and utility providers to obtain required approvals and permits.
- Maintain comprehensive records of design reviews, approvals, and revisions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in design management within the construction industry.
- Proven experience managing large-scale building projects, including high-rise, residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments.
- Experience working with Tier-1 contractors in the UAE/GCC is preferred.
- Strong understanding of local authority regulations and approval processes.
