About the Role
A leading technology organization in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Contract Specialist to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of customer-facing contracts for IT and technology engagements. The role will work closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, Delivery, and Project Management teams to ensure contracts accurately reflect commercial agreements, project scope, deliverables, pricing, SLAs, and associated contractual obligations.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role suited to someone with strong experience in customer-side IT/technology contracts, contract drafting, contract review, negotiation support, and commercial risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, redline, and manage customer contracts, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, amendments, addenda, and change orders.
- Review contracts for commercial, legal, operational, and technical accuracy.
- Validate scope, pricing, payment terms, deliverables, SLAs, milestones, and contractual obligations against approved commercial agreements.
- Identify and assess contractual risks relating to liability, indemnity, IP ownership, data protection, termination, penalties, warranties, and service obligations.
- Escalate non-standard or high-risk contractual provisions to Legal and senior management with appropriate recommendations.
- Support contract negotiations with customers in coordination with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Delivery teams.
- Manage the contract lifecycle from initial drafting/review through execution, amendments, renewals, and closure.
- Maintain accurate contract records, trackers, version control, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor contract expiries, renewals, milestones, obligations, and other critical dates.
- Manage contractual changes resulting from project scope changes, variations, and change requests.
- Ensure consistency between contracts, quotations, SOWs, project documentation, and commercial approvals.
- Prepare contract status reports and dashboards for management.
- Support continuous improvement of contract templates, clause libraries, workflows, and approval processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, Contract Management, or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in contract management, commercial/legal operations, or a similar function.
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling customer-facing contracts within IT, technology, telecom, software, SaaS, system integration, or related industries.
- Strong experience in contract drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiation support.
- Experience working with MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, amendments, change orders, and technology services agreements.
- Good understanding of IT project delivery models, SLAs, software licensing, technology services, and commercial terms.
- Understanding of IP, data protection/privacy, liability, indemnity, termination, and other technology-related contractual provisions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across Sales, Legal, Finance, and Delivery/PMO.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred
- Experience working with a system integrator, technology services company, telecom operator, SaaS provider, or IT solutions organization.
- Contract management certification such as CPCM, CCCM, or World Commerce & Contracting/IACCM.
- Familiarity with contract management and document collaboration tools such as SharePoint, DocuSign/Adobe Sign, Jira, or Confluence.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
