The Facilities Management Department / Physical Plant is currently looking for a Civil & Finishing Technician reporting to the Civil & Finishing Team Leader. This position is based on the Beirut campus.
Role Summary
The Civil & Finishing Team Technician is mainly responsible for maintaining buildings and grounds including all needed preventive maintenance and monitoring of outsourced civil and finishing works and repair university assets, in addition to gypsum wallboards and ceiling (modular false ceiling) installations.
The technician will execute needed maintenance works for various structures, including chairs, desks, cabinets, bookcases, picture frames, and paneled doors, and conduct repairs for various aluminum and steel structures.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Paints the interior and exterior of structures, buildings and other surfaces
- Executes needed maintenance work for various assembled furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items
- Inspects various campus locations and conducts needed civil repairs or maintenance
- Monitors scaffolding installation and other construction structures whenever needed
- Executes needed maintenance for the indoor parking floor epoxy
- Handles key cutting and duplication
- Inspects, conducts repairs and replacement if necessary for all aluminum works like doors, sliding windows, frameless glass door, glass conditions and curtain walls
- Supports and executes needed set-up for university events and activities
- Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned by the direct supervisor
Minimum Required Qualifications
- * Brevet
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
- Dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service
- Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet search
- Willingness to learn the operation of equipment and systems through reading manuals (in English); AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
- Good interpersonal and communication skills especially in verbal and written English and Arabic
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
- A pleasant, dynamic and patient character
- Excellent problem-solving skills
Work Schedule
Physical demands: Physically fit to perform above duties. Ability to lift and carry objects. Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting/carrying materials and equipment. Ability to perform maintenance and repair work in various conditions, use hand and power tools safely, and support event setup activities.
Work Schedule: The regular working days are Monday through Saturday. This position may require flexible scheduling, including night shifts, Sundays, and holidays. Adaptability is essential, as shifts are assigned on a rotational basis and may include weekends and holidays.
