The purpose of the Architect role is to provide professional architectural design, technical coordination, and design management support for Damac Digital's data center and mission-critical developments.
The role is responsible for developing and coordinating architectural solutions that meet project requirements, design objectives, programme, budget, quality expectations, operational requirements, sustainability targets, and applicable statutory, regulatory, and international standards.
The Architect will contribute to projects throughout the complete design and delivery lifecycle, from feasibility and concept development through schematic design, detailed design, tender documentation, IFC documentation, construction support, testing and commissioning, and final handover.
The position will work closely with internal stakeholders, multidisciplinary design consultants, engineers, contractors, specialist vendors, authorities, and project management teams to ensure that architectural design is fully coordinated with structural, civil, MEP, ELV, security, fire and life-safety, ICT, and other specialist systems.
The Architect will support the development of efficient, resilient, scalable, maintainable, and operationally appropriate architectural solutions for mission-critical facilities while maintaining design quality, functionality, constructability, and compliance across projects in different international jurisdictions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a recognized university. A Master's degree in Architecture, professional qualification, or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Typically 8+ years of relevant architectural experience, preferably including significant experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, hyperscale, colocation, technology facilities, industrial facilities, or other technically complex developments.
Proven experience in architectural design and technical delivery for medium to large-scale, complex projects.
Demonstrated experience across the complete architectural project lifecycle, including feasibility, concept design, schematic design, design development, detailed design, tender documentation, IFC documentation, construction support, testing and commissioning, and handover.
Strong understanding of data center and mission-critical facility planning, including:
Data halls and technical spaces
Electrical and mechanical support areas
Equipment access and maintenance routes
Security and access-controlled zones
Loading, logistics, and material movement
Staff and operational facilities
Fire and life-safety requirements
Future expansion and scalability
Functional segregation and operational zoning
Maintainability and operational access
