Architect
About the Role
Ohana Development is looking for an Architect to join our design team. This role is ideal for someone who can carry a project from concept design through to detailed and execution drawings, ensuring design intent is maintained while meeting technical, regulatory, and construction requirements.
You will play a key role in shaping high-quality developments, with a strong focus on buildability, coordination, and documentation excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to concept design development through to detailed design and IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings
- Produce and review high-quality architectural drawings, details, and specifications
- Ensure alignment between design intent and execution on site
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors (MEP, structural, etc.)
- Develop technical solutions and construction details for complex design challenges
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and authority requirements (UAE)
- Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and technical workshops
- Support site team with design clarifications and drawing updates during construction
- Maintain documentation standards and version control
Requirements
- Approximately 8–12 years of professional experience in architectural design and project delivery.
- Proven experience in delivering projects from concept design through detailed design, IFC, and construction.
- Strong experience in residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or high-end developments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UAE building regulations, authority requirements, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant architectural/design software.
- Strong technical documentation, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- UAE/GCC project experience
- Experience working with developers, consultants, or design studios
- Familiarity with BIM standards and project coordination workflows
- Membership in recognized bodies such as RIBA or AIA
