Roles & Responsibilities
- Work under the assigned management structure and report to the relevant Directorate of Operations.
- Establish, manage, and lead a comprehensive training program for Tactical Flight Operators (TFOs), including the design and implementation of training curricula for mission-critical aviation operations such as surveillance, search and rescue, tactical operations, and law enforcement support.
- Develop a structured TFO training curriculum incorporating classroom instruction, hands-on equipment training, practical exercises, and mission-based simulation.
- Develop, prepare, review, and update training manuals, lesson plans, syllabi, examinations, and other instructional materials.
- Ensure training programs are aligned with operational objectives, aviation safety requirements, applicable regulations, and recognized industry best practices.
- Deliver high-quality theoretical and practical training to TFO candidates, focusing on mission-critical competencies such as equipment operation, communication, navigation, situational awareness, and coordination with air and ground teams.
- Design and conduct realistic training scenarios, including Search and Rescue (SAR), suspect pursuit, surveillance operations, disaster response, emergency operations, and multi-agency coordination exercises.
- Ensure all training activities are conducted in accordance with applicable aviation safety requirements, operational procedures, and mission protocols.
- Train personnel in the operation of advanced mission equipment, including thermal imaging systems, FLIR, GPS, surveillance systems, mapping software, and communication equipment.
- Conduct classroom instruction, presentations, demonstrations, practical exercises, and mission-based training.
- Evaluate trainee performance during theoretical and practical exercises and provide constructive feedback, coaching, and corrective guidance.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Tactical Flight Operator/Officer or in a related operational aviation role, such as military aviation, law enforcement aviation, surveillance operations, or Search and Rescue.
- Must hold a recognized Tactical Flight Operator/Officer qualification or certification, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Proven experience in training, instructing, mentoring, or supervising personnel involved in aviation-supported operational missions.
- Must hold the required aviation medical certification and successfully pass any applicable medical assessment.
- Instructor Development or equivalent instructor certification is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of advanced mission equipment, including thermal imaging systems, FLIR, surveillance equipment, mapping and navigation software, GPS, and communication systems.
- Demonstrated experience in developing training materials, publications, lesson plans, syllabi, examinations, and related instructional documentation.
- Strong proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and database applications.
- Good command of the English language, including proper grammar, written communication, and aviation-related terminology.
