To maintain competitive advantage as we grow, we are currently looking for a new Supervisor GL/Statutory
Job purpose:
Keeps the general ledger of the SSC entity complete, reconciled and closed on time, and owns their tax accounting (VAT and corporate tax computations, provisions and filing support) and statutory financial statements so that close, audit and tax deadlines are met.
Supervises the AP & Fixed Assets Senior Accountant
Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end and year-end close of the UAE entities from the Shared Service Center, ensuring the general ledger is complete, accurate and closed on time.
- Own balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and provisions, and clear reconciling items before each close.
- Prepare and review tax computations, tax provisions and supporting workings (VAT, corporate tax and withholding tax) and support the timely submission of tax filings.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and maintain the audit file for the entities under your scope.
- Act as the first point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors on GL, statutory and tax matters.
- Supervise, review and develop the AP & Fixed Assets Senior Accountant.
- Maintain and improve close procedures, controls and documentation within the Shared Service Center.
- Ensure accounting treatments are consistent with Group accounting policies and IFRS.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in general ledger accounting, statutory reporting or tax accounting.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in IFRS.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory financial statements.
- Working knowledge of VAT and corporate tax accounting; GCC tax exposure is a plus.
- Experience dealing with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Prior experience supervising or reviewing the work of others.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- SAP experience is preferred.
- IFRS diploma and/or CPA/CMA qualification is preferred.
- Experience in the Fintech/Financial Services industry is preferred.
