Job Purpose:
- We are seeking a responsible Senior H&S Specialist to ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental policies and guidelines.
- Your primary role will be advising on measures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe working environment. Vigilance in identifying violations is crucial.
- The ideal candidate is a dedicated individual who strictly adheres to Health, Safety, and Environmental laws and regulations. Your focus will be on preventive measures, requiring attentiveness and proactive thinking. Detail orientation is essential, especially during emergencies.
- Drive H&S regulatory compliance system to control compliance of applicable legislations.
- Coordinate H&S hazards identification of all activities within the region, support risk assessment and relevant control measure identification and support their execution.
- Support Red Sea Global implementation of applicable RSG’s H&S Standards and Landscape Nursery H&S Programs.
- Drive incident reporting, investigation, improvement, and H&S Performance.
- Provide guidance in Health & Safety Management based on ISO 45001 Standard and support continuous improvement.
- Contribute to regional and global standard development and improvement.
- Your objective is to establish a workplace that meets legal safety standards and cultivates a culture of prioritizing health, safety, and environment.
- The Senior H&S Specialist – Nursery H&S advises and assists in the implementation and monitoring of the H&S strategy and management within the subsidiary.
Job Responsibilities:
- Compile safety programs.
- Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and standardize H&S to remain consistent.
- Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees.
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential health, safety, and environmental hazards, and recommend appropriate control measures.
- Close site supervision, conduct inspection, and safety audit to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Support for development job safety analysis or risk assessment and review.
- Initiate, organize, and perform H&S trainings of employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Actively participate in safety committees and lead cross-functional teams to address complex HSE issues.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and promote safety culture by encouraging safe work practices and recognizing employees who follow safety guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance, instruction, and support to RSG employees or external stakeholders on a wide range of HSE-related matters, and act as a subject matter expert.
- Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
- Record and investigate incidents to determine causes.
- Prepare reports on occurrences, compile & maintain relevant registers, and provide statistical information to reporting manager and/or his/her immediate superior.
- Assist clients in maintaining comprehensive records and documentation related to HSE programs, including incident reports, training records, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay informed of changes in HSE regulations, industry trends, and best practices, and proactively implement necessary updates to the organization's programs.
- Promote a positive safety culture by fostering employee engagement, recognition, and continuous improvement in HSE performance.
Job Requirements:
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree (e.g. Engineering, Scientific, or H&S related) & related experience required.
- Both Saudi and English language skills at business level are essential.
- Substantial understanding and knowledge of ISO and other relevant regulations.
- In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g., OSHA/EMS, Saudi Arabia’s HSE, COSHH, Confined Space, Lifting Operations, Excavations) and HSE procedures.
- Relevant health and safety related certifications.
- Demonstrated health and safety experience in Gulf countries and local legislation is essential.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills & ability to influence change.
- The ability and desire to work in a dynamic and agile environment.
- An interest in environmental impact and sustainability.

- Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in a health, safety, and environmental management role, preferably in a similar industry.
