Job Summary
Will be responsible for monitoring the compliance with environmental regulations, company sustainability goals, and Saudi Arabian, Royal Commission, Saudi Aramco/Luberef environmental standards across industrial facilities and capital projects. The candidate will play a vital role in executing environmental impact assessments, monitoring industrial waste, air/water emissions, and coordinate decarbonization and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance & Auditing:
- Audit facility compliance with Saudi Aramco Environmental Standards (SAES), National Centre for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) regulations, and international standards.
- Conduct regular environmental compliance audits, site inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential environmental hazards.
- Emissions & Waste Management:
- Oversee wastewater treatment, industrial effluent monitoring, and air emission tracking (flaring, fugitive emissions, and GHG reporting).
- Coordinate the Design and implement comprehensive Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Solid Waste Management programs in line with circular economy principles.
- Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA):
- Participate in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for new projects, facility upgrades, and operational expansions.
- Work with project engineering teams to integrate Best Available Techniques (BAT) into facility designs.
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Develop and execute environmental monitoring programs for soil, groundwater, air quality, and noise levels.
- Prepare routine and dynamic environmental performance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Sustainability & Decarbonization:
- Contribute to company-wide net-zero targets by identifying opportunities for energy efficiency, carbon capture/storage, water conservation, and emissions reduction.
- Lead environmental awareness training and initiatives for site personnel and contractor workforce.
- Incident Investigation:
- Investigate environmental incidents, spills, or non-conformances; perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering (with Environmental concentration), or a related discipline from an accredited university.
- Certification (e.g., PE, CEnv, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH) are highly preferred.
- Experience:
- 3 -10 years of progressive experience in environmental engineering within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Heavy Energy Sector.

Strong familiarity with Middle Eastern / Saudi Arabian environmental regulations (NCEC, GAMEP, Royal Commission) and international standards (USEPA, IFC).

Technical Skills:
- Hands-on knowledge of air emission dispersion modelling, water/wastewater treatment processes, and groundwater monitoring techniques.
- Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS).

Proficient in data analysis, reporting software, and environmental risk assessment methodology.

Soft Skills & Core Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic fluency is a plus).
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary operational, engineering, and HSE teams.
Working Conditions
- Site Environment: Position involves a balance of office-based analytical/reporting work and field inspections across plant processing units, offshore platforms, or remote operational facilities.
- Work Schedule: Regular full-time schedule with occasional emergency response or shutdown/turnaround support requirements.
