Overall Role PurposeThe Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for maintaining the Quality Assurance Audit Programme, identifying areas of non-compliance and opportunities for improvement, monitoring corrective actions, and promoting a positive Safety, Quality, Security, and Just Culture across the organization.
The role supports the effective implementation and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) by conducting audits and inspections to assess compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and DHL Air (Bahrain) policies and procedures. The incumbent will provide independent assurance on operational compliance, identify risks, and support the development of corrective and preventive actions to enhance organizational performance and regulatory compliance.
Your Tasks:Regulatory Compliance Monitoring:
- * Monitor and assess compliance with applicable national and international aviation regulations, standards, directives, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing organizational compliance.
- Review regulatory changes, amendments, and new requirements to determine their applicability and potential impact on company operations.
- Support the Director Quality & Compliance ME in conducting regulatory gap analyses and compliance assessments for new or revised regulatory requirements.
- Communicate applicable regulatory requirements and compliance obligations to relevant departments and stakeholders.
Audit and Inspections Activities:
- * Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments activities in accordance with the approved Quality Assurance Audit Program.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of operational processes, management systems, and internal controls against regulatory requirements, company procedures, IOSA Standards, and customer expectations.
- Verify compliance across Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Engineering & Maintenance, Safety, Security, and contracted service providers.
Compliance Reporting and Corrective Actions:
- * Collect, analyse, and evaluate objective evidence to determine levels of compliance and identify areas of risk or improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive audit and surveillance reports, including findings, observations, and non-conformities.
- Monitor, track, and verify corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely and effective closure of audit findings.
- Conduct follow-up audits and verification activities to confirm the effectiveness and sustainability of corrective actions.
Documentation and Quality System Support:
- * Review company manuals, expositions, procedures, and operational documentation to verify continued alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System by identifying opportunities to enhance compliance processes and controls.
- Maintain accurate and complete audit records within approved audit management and reporting systems.
Ground Operations and Service Provider Oversight:
- * Monitor compliance of contracted and self-handled ground operations through audits, inspections, investigations, and surveillance activities.
- Assess Ground Service Provider (GSP) performance against regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and DHL operational standards.
- Liaise with Ground Service Providers, vendors, regulatory authorities, and operational stakeholders to support audit and compliance activities.
Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement:
- * Promote a positive Safety, Quality, Security, and Just Culture throughout the organization through effective communication and engagement.
- Identify emerging compliance risks and opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to management.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and quality system performance.
Your Profile:
- * At least 5 years’ work experience in the field of Quality Assurance as a Lead Auditor in an Airline environment.
- Holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License, Pilots Licence, Flight Dispatcher Licence, Load Master for at least 10 years, or holder of a degree preferably in Aviation management.
- Must have strong leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical competencies.
- Capable of dealing with many different parties, each with their own interests – negotiation skills are essential for the job holder in obtaining the best solution.
- Full understanding and knowledge of DHL and third-party airside operations.
- Has held similar position in an airline or regulatory authority.
- Successful completion of a Quality System Course, e.g.: Auditor / Lead Auditor Course.
- Knowledge and experience to undertake Quality Control /Quality Assurance tasks and activities in aircraft maintenance, aircraft airworthiness management, flight operations, Ground Operations, and repair organizations.
- Knowledge and experience with IQSMS or other Auditing software programs.
- Excellent planning skills to meet the agreed audit dates and times by planning trips and times accordingly.
- Must be able to plan and employ a systematic travel and audit plan.
- Good computer (MS Office), writing and communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of International and National Civil Aviation Legislation.
- Train the Trainer Course.
- Fluent in written and oral English.
