The candidate should have strong Process Engineering experience in oil refinery operations, with particular expertise in distillation and catalytic process areas, including:
- Distillation Processes
- Hydrotreating
- Semi-Regenerative Catalytic Reforming (SRR)
- Isomerization
- Sweetening Processes, particularly:
- Naphtha Merox
- Kerosene Merox
Key Responsibilities
- Perform process engineering activities related to refinery process units and operations.
- Monitor and evaluate process performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Conduct technical analysis and troubleshooting of process-related problems.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend corrective actions where required.
- Review process design documents, engineering deliverables, and technical specifications.
- Review and provide technical comments on FEED, PFDs, P&IDs, and Process Design Packages.
- Support refinery operations and technical teams in resolving process-related issues.
- Perform process calculations related to hydraulics, heat transfer, mass transfer, and process design.
- Analyze process conditions and operating parameters to improve plant efficiency, reliability, safety, and performance.
- Participate in technical studies, process improvement initiatives, and debottlenecking activities.
- Prepare clear and technically accurate engineering reports, studies, calculations, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, operations, maintenance, and project teams as required.
- Ensure that process engineering activities comply with applicable engineering standards, specifications, and project requirements.
The candidate should demonstrate a good understanding of refinery process units, particularly:
- Crude and product distillation
- Naphtha Hydrotreating
- Kerosene Hydrotreating
- Catalytic Reforming
- Semi-Regenerative Reforming
- Isomerization
- Naphtha Merox
- Kerosene Merox
- Associated process equipment and utilities
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Additional professional certifications in Process Engineering or Refining will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years of Process Engineering experience in an Oil Refinery, with significant hands-on experience in the following process units.
