The Private Chef is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving high-quality meals tailored to the preferences, dietary requirements, and lifestyle of the household. The role requires excellent culinary skills, discretion, organization, flexibility, and the ability to maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and kitchen management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan daily and weekly menus based on the household's preferences, dietary requirements, nutritional needs, and schedule.
- Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and special meals for guests or occasions.
- Prepare customized dishes according to individual tastes, allergies, intolerances, and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a high standard of food presentation, taste, freshness, and consistency.
- Manage grocery shopping and sourcing of fresh, high-quality ingredients from approved suppliers and markets.
- Maintain appropriate food stocks and monitor inventory to ensure ingredients are available when required.
- Control food costs and minimize unnecessary waste while maintaining quality.
- Maintain the kitchen, cooking equipment, utensils, refrigerators, and storage areas in a clean, organized, and hygienic condition.
- Coordinate meal preparation and serving times according to the household's daily schedule.
- Prepare meals for private events, family gatherings, dinners, and other special occasions when required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion regarding the household, family members, guests, routines, and personal information.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a similar position.
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional culinary experience, preferably within private households, luxury hospitality, hotels, restaurants, or VIP environments.
- Strong knowledge of international cuisines and the ability to prepare a diverse range of dishes.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation, presentation, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Experience preparing meals according to dietary restrictions, allergies, and special nutritional requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of personal hygiene, cleanliness, reliability, and professionalism.
- Lives near the Baabdet area or is able to commute easily.
Working Conditions
- The role may require flexibility in working hours depending on the household's schedule.
- Availability for weekends, holidays, special occasions, and private events may be required.
- The Chef may occasionally be required to travel with the household, subject to prior agreement.
- Strict confidentiality and professional conduct are expected at all times.
