Joinery Estimator

Job Purpose
The Joinery Estimator will prepare accurate cost estimates for all joinery works within interior fit-out projects, and will also act as Workshop Supervisor when required, coordinating with the workshop team and carpenters to ensure joinery is produced on time and to the approved drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Study project drawings, BOQs, and specifications to identify all joinery items in fit-out projects (doors, paneling, wardrobes, kitchens, vanities, counters, furniture, etc.).
- Carry out quantity take-off and prepare cost estimates covering materials, hardware, finishes, labour, and installation.
- Obtain and compare quotations from material and hardware suppliers, and maintain an updated rate list.
- Price variations and additional joinery items during project execution.
- Act as Workshop Supervisor when required, planning and allocating daily production work to carpenters and workshop staff.
- Coordinate with the workshop team and carpenters to ensure items are produced as per approved shop drawings and specifications.
- Prepare cutting lists and material requirements, and request materials in advance to avoid production delays.
- Check quality of finished joinery before dispatch to site.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager and Site Supervisors on site measurements, production progress, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure workshop safety, housekeeping, and control of material wastage.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma/degree in Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field; strong joinery/carpentry trade background will also be considered.
- Previous experience as a Joinery Estimator in interior fit-out or joinery manufacturing; workshop supervision experience is an advantage.
- Gulf (GCC) experience required.
- Good knowledge of joinery materials, hardware, finishes, and workshop production processes.
- Ability to read joinery/shop drawings; working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel.
