Title: Environment, Social & Governance Senior Manager

Core responsibilities:
- Support the planning and execution of SAB’s Environmental Social and Governance initiatives and strategies.
- Lead and support ESG strategy implementation across the bank. This includes ESG strategy refresh/reviews, tracking, and reporting to ESG Steering Committee.
- Provide necessary support to key departments, helping execute the ESG Strategy and report progress of deliverables to senior management and relevant committees.
- Collaborate and build relationships across internal businesses and functions to gain alignment with SAB’s strategy and implementation requirements to advance the execution of SAB’s ESG strategy.
- Lead the development and execution of robust governance framework for ESG strategy office.
- Support the delivery of the ESG Steering Committee and ensure proper governance to manage all committee affairs such as minutes of meetings, reports, terms of reference, and annual reviews.
- Ongoing progress updates related to bank-wide ESG initiative and strategy deliverables to Board, executive committees and other senior level forums.
- Manage and consistently improve the control, audit, and compliance related activity for the ESG team.
- Work with division’s business management team and ensure ESG office is update to date with all requirements from across the bank.
- Support the broader ESG Office to deliver their objectives as needed.
- Manage external relationships with industry bodies, government entities, working groups and think tanks.
- Build, cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, identifying and monitoring issues and campaigns, assessing and reporting reputation risk for SAB, and developing individualized engagement plans and strategies in partnership with Communications.
- Play a supporting role in the development of new sustainability aligned products and propositions in addition to participating in product governance forums for green lending and climate risk.
- Providing support to risk function to manage and assess the bank’s exposure against environmental and sustainability risks. Also, supporting risk in RAS and KRIs development and reporting as well as ESG Risk projects such as bank’s portfolio physical risk assessment.
- Lead external assurance activities for the bank’s ESG disclosures, GHG calculations, and Bond Impact Assessment reports.
- Support ESG Data management automation initiatives across the bank to ensure ESG data availability, accuracy, and reliability. This includes establishing an internal ESG dashboard as well as the deployment of an ESG data management tool.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Strong exposure in a sustainability role OR in a role in the financial services industry that incorporates ESG, green or sustainability considerations (e.g., ESG Analyst, Responsible Investment Advisor, Environmental Risk Manager)
- Great knowledge of global sustainable finance frameworks including CDP, SDGs, Equator Principles, GRI, TCFD and regional climate policies and priorities
- Prior experience in analysing corporate sustainability strategies, policies, management and performance and recommending strategies for improvement, particularly in high carbon industries.
