The Role
We're looking for a Cost Controller to join our Finance team. You'll monitor and control costs across our FM and catering projects, ensure accurate project costing, and provide analysis that supports profitability, budgeting and operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly project and contract profitability reports, comparing actual costs against budgets
- Investigate cost variances and follow up on corrective actions with Operations and Procurement
- Monitor project costs, including manpower, overtime, subcontractors, materials, maintenance, transport, accommodation and overheads
- Review catering costs (food cost, recipe costing, cost per meal), and compare actual consumption against standard recipes and approved portions to identify wastage and excessive usage
- Verify purchase requests and purchase orders against approved budgets and cost allocations
- Ensure expenses are recorded against the correct projects, cost centers and accounting periods
- Review inventory reconciliations, stock counts, transfers and consumption records
- Support month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, reconciliations, cost allocations and coordination with external auditors
- Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and costing for new contracts and tenders
- Conduct periodic site and kitchen visits, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report unusual expenditure or control weaknesses
Requirements
- Saudi nationals only
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cost control within facility management and/or catering (catering experience preferred)
- Practical experience in project costing, budgeting, variance analysis and inventory accounting
- Strong Excel skills and hands-on experience with an ERP system
- Good command of English
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with operational teams
Preferred Qualifications
- SOCPA registration
- SAP experience
- Experience managing costs across multiple projects or locations
