The Content Editor is responsible for reviewing, and enhancing legal and business content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and alignment with professional standards.
This role requires strong legal research skills, attention to detail, and the ability to transform complex legal concepts into clear, and client-focused content while maintaining the firm’s professional voice and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit, proofread, and refine legal articles, client alerts, newsletters, website content, and marketing materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, grammatical quality, and alignment with brand voice and publication standards, and adhere to legal and editorial standards.
- Manage content workflows, editorial calendars, and publishing schedules across digital and print platforms. Develop and execute content strategies that enhance the firm’s thought leadership, vision, client engagement, and brand visibility.
- Create, design, and publish social media posts, including static and video content, and engage professionally with online inquiries.
- Monitor and curate member, partner, and industry news for relevant content sharing across platforms.
- Optimize content for search engines through legal keyword research, SEO best practices, and content performance analysis.
- Maintain and regularly update the firm's website with legal insights, publications, attorney profiles, case successes, news, events, and practice area content.
- Create, edit, and distribute legal newsletters, client updates, and other marketing communications while monitoring engagement metrics.
- Develop engaging content for social media platforms, ensuring all communications align with the firm's professional standards and brand identity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2-5- years of experience in content editing, legal writing, publishing, or communications, preferably withing a law firm, legal publisher, or professional service environment. Demonstrated experience editing legal content and working with legal professionals.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, legal research methodologies, and professional writing standards.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and digital content standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and content publishing platforms.
