We are looking for a Commis I to join our newly launched Airport Hospitality operation, supporting both our Airport Lounge (buffet-style service) and Transit Hotel.
As a Commis I, you will support food planning, preparation, and production while ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene. Working closely with the Chef de Partie and kitchen team, you will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences across both lounge and hotel operations.
Job Summary:
As a Commis I, you will assist in daily kitchen operations, food production, buffet replenishment, and stock control activities. You will play an important role in maintaining food quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with food safety standards in a fast-paced airport environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in food planning, preparation, and production according to company standards and recipes.
- Support buffet preparation, replenishment, and presentation for Airport Lounge operations.
- Assist in food production for Transit Hotel operations.
- Maintain high standards of food presentation, quality, and portion control.
- Support daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth workflow during service periods.
- Assist in monitoring and controlling food and beverage stock levels.
- Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
- Support inventory management, stock rotation, and proper storage procedures.
- Work closely with the Chef de Partie and kitchen team to ensure operational excellence.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality management processes.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Executive Chef.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant kitchen experience, preferably within hotels, catering, airport lounges, or hospitality operations.
- Culinary training or vocational certification is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Experience in buffet or high-volume food production environments is preferred.
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
