Application Release Administrator

About the Role
Bank of Baghdad is looking for an Application Release Administrator to join our IT team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and supporting application releases and deployments across different environments, ensuring that software updates are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with change management and IT governance standards.
This role requires close collaboration with development, testing, infrastructure, and other technical teams to ensure smooth and successful application deployments while minimizing operational risks and service disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule application releases and deployments.
- Ensure releases comply with change management and IT governance standards.
- Coordinate with development, testing, and infrastructure teams to ensure release readiness.
- Execute and monitor application deployments across different environments.
- Maintain release documentation, deployment records, and release schedules.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve release-related issues.
- Support rollback and recovery activities when required.
- Continuously improve release management processes and deployment efficiency.
- Coordinate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in application deployment, release management, or IT operations.
- Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and change management processes.
- Familiarity with release automation and CI/CD tools.
- Familiarity with version control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Banking Knowledge
Knowledge or experience in banking technology environments is highly preferred, particularly:
- Core Banking
- Payments
- Cards
- Digital Banking
- Compliance
- EOD / Batch Processing
Certifications
Relevant IT certifications such as ITIL, DevOps, or Agile are considered an advantage.
Working Schedule
- Working Days: Sunday to Thursday
- Sunday – Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Thursday: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
