Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Veterinary Doctor role based in the United Arab Emirates. The Veterinary Doctor will conduct physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, develop treatment plans, and perform medical and surgical procedures for companion animals. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and monitoring treatment outcomes. The role involves counseling pet owners on preventive care, nutrition, vaccination schedules, and post-treatment instructions, while maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring adherence to clinic protocols. The Veterinary Doctor will collaborate with veterinary nurses, technicians, and support staff to deliver efficient, high-quality care and contribute to ongoing improvement of clinical practices.
Qualifications
- Relevant veterinary medical degree (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution and eligibility for licensing/registration to practice veterinary medicine in the United Arab Emirates.
- Clinical experience in small animal practice, including routine examinations, diagnostics, internal medicine, and soft-tissue surgery.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, diagnostic decision-making, and treatment planning using evidence-based guidelines.
- Ability to perform routine surgical procedures, anesthesia management, and post-operative care safely and effectively.
- Proficiency in using veterinary diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., laboratory analyzers, imaging, monitoring devices) and electronic medical record systems.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills for explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and home-care instructions to clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary veterinary team and to mentor junior staff when needed.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining accurate, confidential medical records.
- Dedication to animal welfare, adherence to professional ethics, and willingness to stay current with advances in veterinary medicine through continuing education.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in additional languages commonly used in the UAE is an advantage.
