Role Description
The Junior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Beirut. This position supports daily accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable, and maintaining accurate general ledger entries. The Junior Accountant helps prepare basic financial reports, reconciles bank statements, and supports month-end and year-end closing activities. The role also involves organizing financial documents, assisting in audits, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. The successful candidate collaborates with the finance team and other departments to provide timely, reliable financial information that supports business decisions.
Qualifications
- Foundational accounting knowledge and skills, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and familiarity with financial statements.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, spreadsheets, and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in numerical work, and the ability to maintain organized financial records.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and support process improvements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent relevant education/experience).
- Ability to work on-site in Beirut, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks within deadlines.
- Knowledge of local tax and financial regulations is an advantage; prior internship or junior experience in accounting or finance is a plus.
