Role Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our backend systems, APIs, web platforms, and mobile applications. In this role, you will lead test planning and execution, design and maintain both automated and manual testing frameworks, and collaborate closely with developers, product managers, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software and a seamless user experience. You will oversee backend and API testing, database validation, performance and load testing, and security testing, while providing strategic insights to enhance QA processes and improve overall product quality. Key Responsibilities:
1- Test Planning & Design:
- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test plans, test cases, and test scripts for backend systems, APIs, web platforms, and mobile applications.
- Design test frameworks to support scalable, high-quality testing across all systems.
2- Test Execution:
- Perform functional, regression, performance, load, usability, and user acceptance testing.
- Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure compatibility.
- Execute API testing to validate backend functionality, integration, and performance.
3- Database & Backend Validation:
- Validate database queries, stored procedures, and data integrity across backend systems.
- Ensure backend services and APIs meet performance, reliability, and security requirements.
4- Bug & Defect Management:
- Identify, document, and track software defects using tools such as Jira or TestRail.
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve defects efficiently and document recurring issues.
5- Collaboration & Feedback:
- Work closely with developers, DevOps, product managers, designers, and QA teams to align on requirements, test strategies, and quality expectations.
- Provide actionable qualitative and quantitative feedback to improve software quality.
6- Deployment & Monitoring:
- Conduct pre-release and post-release evaluations to ensure successful deployments.
- Monitor staging and production environments to identify anomalies and potential risks.
7- Automation & Security Testing:
- Develop and enhance automation frameworks for backend, API, and UI testing.
- Collaborate with security teams to identify vulnerabilities and implement remediation measures.
8- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed QA documentation, including test plans, test cases, and metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
- Provide clear reports and insights to stakeholders to support product improvement.
9- Continuous Improvement & Standards:
- Research and adopt new testing tools, technologies, and best practices.
- Suggest and implement process improvements, QA policies, and procedures to optimize testing efficiency.
- Ensure all QA activities adhere to company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
Qualifications:
Education:
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience in Quality Assurance roles.
- Proven experience as a QA engineer, preferably in web and mobile applications.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
- Familiarity with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Detox) and writing automation scripts.
- Knowledge of databases, SQL, and scripting languages.
