We are seeking an experienced Head of Supply Chain to lead and optimize all supply chain operations for our diesel generators and energy solutions business. This strategic role oversees global sourcing, procurement, inventory, warehousing, and logistics to ensure uninterrupted availability of equipment for sales and critical spare parts for production and maintenance.
The successful candidate will play a key role in cost optimization, risk mitigation, and operational excellence while supporting rapid response service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Procurement
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with sales targets for diesel generators and the operational needs of the maintenance department.
- Manage end-to-end sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of diesel generators, spare parts, and consumables from local and international suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality compliance, and reliable lead times.
- Implement vendor performance evaluation, supplier risk assessment, and contingency planning.
2. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Oversee inventory for two main product lines:
- Large diesel generator units
- High-volume spare parts and consumables (oil, filters, belts, etc.)
- Implement effective inventory control systems (Min/Max, Just-in-Time for critical parts) to optimize stock levels and prevent shortages, especially for service operations.
- Manage warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure accurate stock reconciliation.
- Lead system improvements including barcoding, QR coding, and warehouse process automation.
3. Logistics & Distribution
- Manage all import/export activities, customs clearance, and freight forwarding in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Optimize transportation and delivery schedules for generator sales and timely spare parts dispatch to maintenance teams.
- Negotiate freight, insurance, and logistics contracts to minimize total landed costs.
4. Departmental Support & Service Excellence
- Work closely with the Maintenance department to forecast demand for routine service consumables and common spare parts.
- Establish fast-track procurement and fulfillment processes to support urgent service requirements and minimize generator downtime for customers.
- Coordinate with Sales and Production teams to align procurement planning with sales forecasts and project timelines.
5. Financial Performance & Reporting
- Manage the Supply Chain budget and drive continuous cost-reduction initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze key KPIs including:
- Inventory Turnover Rate
- On-Time Delivery Rate
- Landed Cost Percentage
- Service Parts Availability Rate
- Prepare detailed monthly reports for company owners covering performance, inventory valuation, and supply chain risks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum 8–10 years of supply chain experience, preferably within generators, heavy equipment, industrial, or energy sectors.
- Strong knowledge of international sourcing, logistics, customs, and inventory management.
- Proven leadership and negotiation skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, inventory control tools, and warehouse management systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
