**Getti lets shoppers describe what they need in plain language, compare options from several stores side by side and check out across multiple merchants in one basket with a single payment. Shoppers can browse as guests without an account. Merchants fulfil their own orders, and Getti's current commercial direction is a merchant-funded commission rather than an additional fee charged to the shopper. Subscriptions and premium features are not part of the current launch baseline, and no pricing for them has been set.
Responsibilities
Revenue strategy and model
-
Define Getti's revenue model and the sequence in which revenue streams are introduced, from the UAE launch through expansion to Saudi Arabia.
-
Build and maintain the revenue plan and forecast, and set the targets the team is measured against.
-
Decide, with evidence, when Getti is ready to introduce paid plans, and which conditions must be met first.
Merchant commissions
-
Work with Kareem Said on Getti's commission model and commercial fee agreements, including rates for merchants that Getti brings directly and for merchants reached through its merchant-connectivity and checkout provider.
-
Define commission reporting, payout timing, refund clawbacks and tax treatment, and make sure commission revenue reconciles with order and refund records.
-
Use Getti's record of stores and products that shoppers ask for but Getti cannot yet serve to prioritise new merchants and categories.
Affiliate revenue
-
Evaluate affiliate programmes for stores that Getti cannot serve through its own checkout, and introduce clearly labelled affiliate link-outs where the programme terms allow.
-
Make sure no order earns revenue through two channels, and that Getti complies with each programme's rules on incentivised traffic, price display and data caching.
Subscription tiers, pricing and premium features
-
Design Getti's consumer plans, including tiers, benefits, monthly and annual pricing, trials and introductory offers.
-
Set prices in AED including VAT for the UAE, and later in SAR for Saudi Arabia, taking account of App Store in-app purchase rules and Apple's commission.
-
Identify and prioritise premium features with product and engineering, based on what shoppers value and what Getti can sustainably deliver.
-
Keep the free experience strong, including guest browsing, because order volume drives commission revenue.
Paywall and conversion design
-
Define the paywall moment, messaging and plan presentation, working with the product designer and the iOS developer.
-
Make sure every offer states the price, renewal period and how to cancel clearly, in English and Arabic, before purchase.
-
Optimise conversion across the funnel, from first session to first order and from free to paid.
Retention and churn
-
Build cohort, retention and churn analysis for shoppers and subscribers, and act on the findings.
-
Design lifecycle, win-back and renewal programmes that respect marketing-consent requirements and UAE rules on marketing messages.
-
Reduce voluntary and involuntary churn through plan design, value delivery and billing recovery.
Experiments, metrics and unit economics
-
Define Getti's revenue metrics, including gross merchandise value, orders, commission take rate, conversion, average revenue per user, lifetime value, payback and churn.
-
Specify the analytics instrumentation needed with Muhammad Umer Sohail, CTO, and own the revenue dashboards.
-
Design, run and read pricing and paywall experiments with sound methodology.
-
Model unit economics per shopper and per order, including AI running costs, provider API usage, App Store fees and VAT, and make sure plan limits such as AI usage remain profitable.
Trust, disclosure and compliance
-
Make sure shoppers can see that Getti earns merchant commission, that any sponsored placement is clearly labelled, and that monetization never overrides the shopper's stated needs. Getti's AI design rules state that commission does not influence recommendations in the first version.
-
Avoid absolute price claims such as guaranteed lowest prices unless they are verified.
-
Keep all shopper incentives within UAE stored-value rules: no wallets, balances, store credit or cashback balances. Use instant discounts at checkout instead.
-
Design household and family offers around adult accounts. Household and family information counts as sensitive personal data under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, and children's data must stay switched off or tightly restricted until legal counsel clears it under the Child Digital Safety law, whose compliance deadline is 1 January 2027.
-
Work with 808labs' legal counsel on consumer-protection requirements for subscriptions, promotions and price changes.
Requirements
-
A track record of owning revenue or monetization outcomes at a consumer subscription app, marketplace or e-commerce business, with measurable results.
-
Hands-on experience designing subscription plans and pricing, including App Store in-app subscriptions, trials and introductory offers.
-
Experience with marketplace or affiliate economics, including commission structures and take rates.
-
Strong quantitative skills: unit economics, cohort and retention analysis, and pricing experiment design and interpretation.
-
Fluency with product analytics tools and SQL or spreadsheets, and the ability to work with data independently.
-
Experience designing paywalls and conversion flows with product and design teams.
-
A self-directed working style, with sound commercial judgement and the confidence to make decisions in ambiguous situations.
-
Excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to present recommendations clearly to founders.
Nice to have
-
Monetization experience in the GCC, and knowledge of consumer behaviour and payment methods in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
-
Professional proficiency in Arabic.
-
Experience with retail media or sponsored-placement products.
-
Experience with AI-driven consumer products, including managing variable AI costs.
-
Familiarity with UAE and Saudi consumer-protection and personal data protection rules.

Experience in an early-stage startup.**
