Design and Production Engineer

LEV Tech designs and manufactures metal structures and enclosures used inside data centers. We are looking for an experienced design engineer to own our 3D design work and take it all the way through to production.
The role
You will model our products in SolidWorks, pull bills of quantity and cut lists straight from your models, and prepare the files that drive our laser cutting and bending machines. You will also help us build a standard parts library so new designs take a fraction of the time. This is a hands on role, working closely with the production team.
What you will do
- Build 3D models and assemblies of custom structures in SolidWorks
- Read and work from client AutoCAD layouts and specifications
- Produce shop drawings, bills of quantity and manufacturing cut lists directly from your models
- Prepare and nest files for laser cutting, and program bending on the press brake
- Design for manufacture, taking into account our own machines, tolerances and finishing process
- Build and maintain a standard library of parts and assemblies
- Support production on the floor, and visit sites to verify measurements where needed
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design and production engineering
- Strong SolidWorks skills, including sheet metal and large assemblies
- Able to produce accurate bills of quantity and cut lists from a 3D model
- Hands on experience with laser cutting nesting software and press brake programming
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication and finishing
- Comfortable working alongside a production team on the floor
- Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering preferred. A diploma with 12 or more years of relevant hands on experience will also be considered
- UAE experience is a must
