Role Overview
We are looking for a Data Analyst – GIS & Fleet Performance to support our Command & Control Centre by collecting, validating, analysing, and reporting operational, GIS, GPS, and fleet data.
The role will be responsible for converting operational data into clear reports, dashboards, KPIs, trends, and actionable recommendations to improve fleet utilization, route efficiency, productivity, service quality, and overall operational performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with Route Planners, Vehicle Controllers, Area Managers, Operations, and Command & Control Centre teams to monitor daily activities and support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring
- Collect, validate, consolidate, and analyse fleet, GPS, GIS, operational, and service-performance data.
- Monitor vehicle utilization, trip volumes, travel distances, working hours, route adherence, and key fleet performance indicators.
- Analyse operational trends, abnormalities, variances, and performance gaps and highlight areas requiring corrective action.
- Compare planned versus actual routes, trips, vehicle utilization, and operational performance.
- Provide data-driven insights and practical recommendations to improve fleet efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
GIS & Fleet Performance
- Use GIS and digital mapping systems to analyse service areas, routes, vehicle movements, and operational coverage.
- Analyse GPS and fleet-tracking data to monitor vehicle movements, route compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Support route optimization and identify opportunities for improved vehicle deployment and utilization.
- Prepare GIS-based analysis and reports to support operational planning and performance improvement.
Reporting, Dashboards & KPIs
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports.
- Develop and maintain KPI trackers, dashboards, and analytical reports using Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.
- Monitor operational KPIs and provide regular updates to management and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all reports and dashboards are accurate, timely, and presented in a clear and actionable format.
- Support the development and enhancement of reporting processes and analytical tools.
Command & Control Centre Support
- Support the Command & Control Centre in monitoring and analysing daily fleet and operational activities.
- Work closely with Route Planners, Vehicle Controllers, Area Managers, Operations teams, and Command & Control personnel to identify and address operational issues.
- Support analysis of customer complaints, operational incidents, service failures, and performance-related concerns.
- Provide timely data and analysis to support operational decision-making and issue resolution.
- Support changing operational requirements and undertake additional duties as required by the Command & Control Centre.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, GIS, fleet performance, operational reporting, or a similar analytical/operational role.
- Practical experience working with GIS systems, digital mapping, GPS, and fleet-tracking platforms.
- Experience in fleet management, transportation, waste management, facilities management, logistics, or similar operational environments will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, KPI reporting, data analysis, and dashboard preparation.
- Knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and convert findings into practical operational recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational and reporting deadlines.
- Flexible and willing to work shifts based on operational requirements.
- Ability to work effectively from a Command & Control Centre environment and support operational requirements beyond core analytical responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary operational team.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing operational priorities.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Analytics, GIS, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in GIS, Data Analytics, Power BI, Fleet Management, or Business Intelligence will be an advantage.
