Role Description The Commis Chef is a full-time, on-site role based at Pullman Hotel West in Doha, Qatar. This role supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes under supervision, and ensuring food presentation meets brand standards. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with mise en place, maintaining cleanliness and organization in workstations, following hygiene and safety procedures, and supporting senior chefs during service. The Commis Chef also helps with stock rotation, basic inventory checks, and proper storage of food items. Collaboration with colleagues and clear communication with the kitchen team are essential to ensure smooth operations and consistent quality.
Qualifications
* Strong foundation in Food Preparation and Cooking, with practical Culinary Skills suitable for a hotel kitchen environment.
* Knowledge of Hygiene and food safety standards, with the ability to follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures consistently.
* Effective Communication skills to work collaboratively with chefs and other team members, and to follow instructions accurately.
* Relevant culinary education or certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in a professional kitchen.
* Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop skills within an international hospitality setting.
* Basic understanding of international cuisines and hotel-style service is an advantage.
