Elite Private School, an American curriculum school in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a qualified and experienced Career Guidance Counsellor to support students in making informed decisions about their education, university pathways and future careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group guidance on career choices, subject selection and university pathways.
- Help students identify their interests, strengths and goals through career exploration activities and assessments.
- Guide students and parents on university admission requirements in the UAE and internationally.
- Support university applications, personal statements, scholarship applications and preparation for admission interviews.
- Advise students on relevant entrance tests and help them track application deadlines.
- Organize university visits, career fairs, workshops and sessions with professionals.
- Build relationships with universities, employers and other organizations to create opportunities for students.
- Coordinate with teachers and school leaders to ensure subject choices support students’ future plans.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records of counselling sessions, applications, offers and graduate destinations.
- Follow school safeguarding policies and refer student wellbeing concerns to the appropriate support team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Counselling, Psychology, Education or a relevant field.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification or certification in career guidance would be an advantage.
- Previous experience in career or university counselling within a school.
- Knowledge of American curriculum graduation pathways and UAE and international university admissions.
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents and school staff.
- UAE school experience and familiarity with ADEK requirements would be an advantage.
