- * Hold a Degree/Diploma preferred in engineering.
- Certified by Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), Foundation and Lifting Equipment General (LEG).
Minimum Experience
- * For degree holders, shall have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in any engineering field (preferably LE) of which three (3) years has been spent in inspection and certification of LE.
- For diploma holders, shall have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in any engineering field (preferably LE) of which three (3) years has been spent in inspection and certification of LE.
Responsibilities
- * Lead all lifting and rig mover operations in compliance with company, client and all applicable industry standards.
- Involved in lifting operations and participating in all risk assessments for ensuring simple lifts and all complex lifts are engineered to the relevant standards.
- Prepares lifting plans, coordinates, and executes lifting operations and securing necessary approvals and endorsement from the client.
- Participates in the process for verifying that competent lifting operator are used to perform lifting and rigging activities.
- Ensure that all lifting equipment at site have test and examination certificates and are within current test dates. If required ensure color-coding and certification of examined equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.
- Should be familiar with Company HSE guidelines & Lifting Equipment Management System (LEMS).
- Lead visits, reviews, and audits of Contractors to ensure Company HSSE requirements with regards to Lifting and Hoisting operations are in place and applied in daily operations
- Contribute to reviewing of Contractor Interface documents, Lifting plans, certification of lifting equipment and gear, Emergency Response Plans with regards to Lifting and Hoisting operations.
- Assure and coordinate all aspects of company activities in respect of Lifting and Hoisting and Mobile Heavy Equipment operations.
- Develop, implement, and assure the Lifting and Hoisting related standards and operating procedures for the operating company in line with recognized international industry codes and standards, practices as well as applicable regional regulations. Own and regularly review Company Lifting and Hoisting related requirements and documentation.
- Work with the respective Contract Holders for all relevant contractors to align Lifting and hoisting operations across all Company locations.
- Responsible for lifting equipment selection, procurement and ensure all lifting equipment meets the required standards
- Ensure all documentation required for lifting and rigging has been processed and correct for the lifting and rigging to proceed.
- Ensure compliance of the client's policies and procedure related to Lifting and rigging
- Competent at assessing the lifting and rigging subordinates under supervision
- Supervise inspections of contractor owned, operated or hired cranes, trailers lifting equipment including boom truck and forklifts (or any lifting equipment under CONTRACTOR control)
- At all times ensure all equipment is faultless.
- Monitoring of the ongoing lifting operations at site to ensure best industry practices are being carried out and legislative practices are met.
- Ensure safe and efficient planning for rig moves and support the activities of the Operations and support services in accordance with client goals and within Company guidelines/policy.
- Actions pre-rig move meetings and route survey with rig Move crew and 3rd party transport crew to communicate objectives, special instructions and safety precautions as required.
- Arrange and ensuren PTW Ensure rig move permit/PTW is obtained from client & police permit before rig move commence.
- Co-ordinate with client PIC for opening, if any road divider has to be opened.
- Arrange & obtain PTW from client prior to rig move activity commence.
- Visit new location well in advance together with the 3rd Party Transport Supervisor to evaluate the deficiency of location to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Ensure all relevant parties have been toughly communicated for rig move rout prior to commencement of rig move activities.
- Liaise with all relevant parties during rig move for safe loading and transportation of equipment to new location to understand their responsibilities during rig move operations.
- Ensure that loads are being lifted, loaded & lashed properly.
- Other tasks given by PIC in line with departmental activities.
- Contribute to gathering training material. Conducts inhouse trainings for GDI and 3 rd Party crew within relevant domain.
