I’m currently supporting a fast-growing Construction Tech / B2B SaaS company in Munich that is using AI to transform how the construction supply chain handles purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices.
They are now looking for a Team Lead AI Engineering to take ownership of their AI infrastructure, shape technical direction and help build the next generation of AI-powered document solutions.
What you’ll do Own MLOps processes and AI infrastructure from pipeline design through production deployment * Lead and mentor a small team of 1–2 AI Engineers, with the team expected to grow * Design and implement AI features around document understanding, reconciliation and uncertainty estimation * Work hands-on with NLP, OCR, computer vision and Generative AI * Set engineering standards around scalability, maintainability, security and quality * Translate customer and product needs into clear AI engineering priorities * Work closely with the CPO and founders on technical and product decisions * Introduce and champion modern AI development tools such as Claude and Cursor*
What they’re looking for 5+ years of experience in AI/ML Engineering, ideally including NLP and image processing * 1+ year of technical leadership experience * Strong hands-on Python and Azure expertise * Experience owning MLOps and production AI/ML infrastructure * Practical experience with Generative AI, OCR and uncertainty estimation * Fluent German and English (C1+) * Willingness to work from the Munich office at least 2 days per week*
