Bytex is the Trading Automation Suite that lets you build, test, deploy, backtest and orchestrate trading strategies in one secure software environment.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to evolve the Bytex trading engine and Trading Studio, with a focus on performance, correctness and developer experience.
What are you going to do:
- Design and build core components of our open-source Trading Engine and its SDK;
- Own performance and determinism: every event must be repeatable, precise and fast;
- Develop integrations with exchanges, brokers and market data providers (REST, WebSocket, historical APIs);
- Build and maintain orchestration for running strategies at scale in Docker environments;
- Extend MCP and agent access to the Studio, with strict sandboxing and read-only data guarantees;
- Review code, mentor engineers and contribute to architecture decisions.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong C# / .NET;
- Experience building high-performance, data-intensive or low-latency systems;
- Strong grasp of concurrency, memory management and profiling;
- Experience with Docker, Redis and data formats such as Parquet and CSV;
- Experience designing clean, well-documented APIs and SDKs;
- Comfortable working with open-source codebases and public repositories.
Must-haves:
- Good written English and the ability to work async in a remote team;
- Strong ability to explain technical trade-offs in simple words;
- Security-first mindset: encryption, isolation, safe defaults.
Nice-to-haves:
- Prior work on trading systems, matching engines, backtesters or market data infrastructure;
- Experience with fixed-point arithmetic and precision-critical code;
- Open-source contributions;
- Background in Math, Physics or Computer Science.
Candidates considered strong if they have:
- Shipped production trading, exchange or market data software;
- High agency: you find the problem, propose the fix and ship it;
- Strong understanding of numerical correctness and system reliability;
- Clear written English and good documentation habits.
Pay is proportional to the severity of requirements.
