The RoleWe are seeking a Reporter to research, develop, and deliver high-quality news and feature content across digital and other media platforms. This part-time remote opportunity is suited to a curious and well-organized professional with strong research, writing, interviewing, and fact-checking skills. The role provides opportunities to cover developing stories, conduct interviews, and turn complex information into accessible reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- * Research and report on relevant news, business, industry, and community developments.
- Identify potential stories through research, interviews, public information, and industry sources.
- Conduct interviews with relevant sources and develop accurate, well-structured stories.
- Write clear, engaging, and fact-based articles for digital and other media platforms.
- Verify information, facts, quotations, names, figures, and supporting details before publication.
- Monitor breaking developments and provide timely updates when required.
- Develop background research and supporting material for feature stories and special reports.
- Collaborate with editors, content teams, photographers, and other contributors.
- Maintain organized notes, source information, research materials, and reporting records.
- Meet editorial deadlines while maintaining accuracy, professional standards, and appropriate source attribution.
Requirements
- * Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Journalism, Communications, Media, English, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in journalism, reporting, news writing, media, or related communications work preferred.
- Strong understanding of reporting, research, interviewing, fact-checking, and editorial processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong storytelling ability.
- Knowledge of responsible sourcing, attribution, accuracy, and professional reporting practices.
- Familiarity with digital publishing, social media, online research, and multimedia content is an advantage.
- Ability to research complex topics and present information clearly and objectively.
- Strong interviewing, critical-thinking, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote editorial team.
- Strong attention to detail, curiosity, professionalism, and commitment to accurate reporting.
