Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Umm Qarn. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, visual acuity testing, and assessment of ocular health for patients of various age groups. Daily responsibilities include prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses, advising patients on lens options, and providing guidance on eye care and preventive measures. The Optometrist will document findings accurately, maintain patient records, and collaborate with the optical retail team to ensure appropriate product selection and fitting. The role also involves identifying and managing common eye conditions, making referrals to ophthalmologists or other specialists when needed, and upholding all clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
* Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Optometrist, with a recognized degree in Optometry or equivalent.
* Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye exams, including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and basic diagnostic procedures.
* Experience prescribing and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, with strong knowledge of lens types and optical products.
* Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain clinical findings and treatment options in clear, accessible language.
* Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care and adherence to clinical and regulatory guidelines.
* Ability to work collaboratively with optical staff and other healthcare professionals in a retail clinical environment.
* Attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and comfort using electronic health records or digital practice management systems.
* Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with advances in optometry and eye care technology.
* Prior experience in a clinical or optical retail setting is an advantage; familiarity with multicultural patient populations is beneficial.
