Position Summary
Sakina is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (Special Needs) to support individuals with developmental, behavioral, cognitive, physical, and sensory challenges. The successful candidate will assess functional abilities, develop individualized intervention plans, and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services aimed at maximizing independence, participation, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for individuals with special needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each patient's goals and functional abilities.
- Provide therapy services for individuals with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Sensory processing difficulties
- Learning disabilities
- Neurological and physical conditions
- Assess and improve fine motor, gross motor, sensory integration, self-care, social, and daily living skills.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate and train families, caregivers, and support staff on therapeutic strategies and home programs.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, physicians, educators, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and therapy records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid DOH License as an Occupational Therapist or DOH Eligibility.
- Minimum experience as required by DOH regulations.
- Experience working with individuals with special needs, developmental disorders, or rehabilitation patients is preferred.
