Role Overview
As the Junior Accountant, you will join the CFO's team and support the day-to-day accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting activities of the Group. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience in UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance, who can maintain accurate records, meet reporting deadlines, and contribute to the smooth running of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Accounting: Record, review, and maintain day-to-day accounting transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Journal Entries and Reconciliations: Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
- Period-End Closing: Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Bank and Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- VAT Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with UAE regulations.
- Corporate Tax Compliance: Support Corporate Tax compliance, including calculations, documentation, and filings.
- Financial Reporting and Audit: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit requirements.
- Record Keeping: Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and supporting documents.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BS Accountancy) or Accounting graduate (a must).
- Minimum 2 years of local UAE accounting experience.
- Practical experience in UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Preferred: Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Preferred: Experience supporting external audits.
