We are seeking a visionary, analytical, and forward-thinking Futurist to help the organization anticipate future trends, identify emerging opportunities, understand potential disruptions, and develop strategies for long-term growth and resilience.
The successful candidate will research emerging technologies, societal developments, economic trends, consumer behavior, and industry transformations to provide forward-looking insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
The ideal candidate should be highly curious, intellectually rigorous, commercially aware, and comfortable thinking beyond conventional assumptions. The ability to connect seemingly unrelated trends and translate them into practical business strategies is essential.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain a long-term strategic foresight framework for the organization.
• Monitor emerging technologies, economic trends, social developments, demographic changes, consumer behavior, and industry disruptions.
• Identify weak signals, emerging trends, potential disruptions, and transformational opportunities that may affect the organization.
• Conduct horizon scanning and future-oriented research across relevant industries, markets, technologies, and global developments.
• Develop future scenarios, forecasts, strategic outlooks, and alternative business models to support long-term planning.
• Assess the potential impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, biotechnology, blockchain, advanced computing, and other transformative technologies.
• Analyze how future developments may influence customers, competitors, industries, business models, and organizational capabilities.
• Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on future trends and scenario analysis.
• Support long-term corporate strategy, innovation strategy, investment decisions, and business transformation initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for new products, services, markets, technologies, partnerships, and revenue models.
• Challenge existing assumptions and encourage leadership teams to consider alternative strategic possibilities.
• Develop strategic foresight reports, executive briefings, trend reports, presentations, and future outlooks.
• Lead workshops, scenario-planning sessions, innovation forums, and strategic discussions with senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Strategy, Innovation, Technology, Marketing, Product, Investment, and Business Development teams.
• Build relationships with researchers, universities, think tanks, technology companies, entrepreneurs, investors, industry experts, and other thought leaders.
• Track global developments and assess their potential implications for the organization’s competitive position and long-term sustainability.
• Develop early-warning indicators and strategic monitoring frameworks for major emerging risks and opportunities.
• Support organizational preparedness for major technological, economic, environmental, social, and geopolitical shifts.
• Translate complex future concepts into practical, commercially relevant strategies and actions.
• Continuously challenge the organization to think beyond short-term objectives and prepare for multiple possible futures.
✅ Requirements
• Proven experience in Futures Studies, Strategic Foresight, Innovation, Corporate Strategy, Emerging Technology, Research, Consulting, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of global trends, emerging technologies, business transformation, and societal developments.
• Exceptional research, analytical, critical-thinking, and conceptual skills.
• Ability to identify connections between seemingly unrelated trends and develop meaningful strategic insights.
• Strong scenario planning, forecasting, trend analysis, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
• Strong presentation and storytelling abilities, particularly when presenting future scenarios and strategic possibilities to senior executives.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to translate future trends into practical business opportunities.
• Comfortable working with uncertainty, ambiguity, incomplete information, and rapidly changing environments.
• Strong curiosity, creativity, intellectual independence, and willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
• Ability to work effectively with senior executives, researchers, technologists, entrepreneurs, investors, and cross-functional teams.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and intellectual rigor.
• Bachelor’s degree in Futures Studies, Economics, Technology, Business, Innovation, Sociology, Political Science, Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Master’s degree, MBA, PhD, or specialized qualifications in Strategic Foresight, Futures Studies, Innovation, or related fields will be an advantage.
• Experience in consulting, technology, venture capital, research, think tanks, innovation labs, or corporate strategy is highly desirable.
