Job Description:
Plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the department.
Undertakes special projects to meet the objectives of the department.
Follow the University rules and regulations
Supervise and direct the work activities of the facilities technicians on day-to-day building maintenance operations including minor alterations work and repair of AU assets and assist them when required.
Collaborates with Manager in establishing work priorities.
Ensure all essential, critical and fast going items required for repair and maintenance purposes are available in storage at all times.
Ensure all AU facilities are maintained at all times by scheduling site visits and conducting regular inspection.
Establish an up-to-date record of items which require maintenance and repair and ensure setting a time frame for the work plan.
Responsible for timely purchasing of needed materials, using department budget & petty cash, once all the sources for the purchasing are accomplished.
Responsible for obtaining quotations/ samples for materials and furniture needed.
Coordinate with Contractors in order to be available on site and supervise their scheduled work.
Ensure attending to all emergency calls in a timely manner with the responsible technician and/or maintenance contractors.
Undertake other related duties as required.
Skills
Requirements:
Diploma qualification in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 5 years experience in relevant field.
Ability to supervise a team.
Developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
