Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Estimation Engineer–Mechanical role based in Egypt. The Estimation Engineer–Mechanical will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical works, including piping, HVAC, and related systems, based on project drawings, specifications, and technical data. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing tender documents, developing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), analyzing material and labor requirements, and coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate estimates. The role involves conducting market research for pricing, supporting negotiations with vendors and subcontractors, and updating cost databases to reflect current industry rates. The Estimation Engineer–Mechanical will also contribute to risk assessment, value engineering proposals, and preparation of technical and commercial bid submissions, ensuring alignment with company standards and client expectations.
Qualifications
* Candidates should possess strong skills in BOQ preparation and project estimation for mechanical systems and related works.
* Candidates should possess knowledge in Civil Engineering fundamentals and mechanical engineering interfaces to interpret drawings and technical specifications effectively.
* Candidates should possess effective negotiation and research skills to obtain competitive pricing, assess vendors, and support tender strategies.
* Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline) are preferred.
* Experience in estimation within Oil and Gas, Energy, Construction, or heavy steel fabrication projects is an advantage.
* Proficiency in estimation and engineering software (e.g., MS Excel, AutoCAD or similar tools) and strong analytical and numerical abilities are beneficial.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, meet deadlines under pressure, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
