Role Description This is a full-time Embedded System Engineer/IoT role based in Alexandria, Egypt, offered on a hybrid basis with some work-from-home flexibility. The Embedded System Engineer/IoT professional will design, develop, and test embedded software and electronics for systems that monitor and optimize pyrolysis and waste-to-energy processes. Daily responsibilities include integrating sensors and IoT devices, developing firmware and communication protocols, and ensuring reliable data acquisition and control within industrial environments. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate process requirements into hardware and software specifications, troubleshooting system performance, and implementing improvements for safety, efficiency, and scalability. The engineer will also document designs, support deployment and commissioning on-site, and contribute to continuous enhancement of Renovate Energy’s digital and automation capabilities.
Qualifications
* Strong skills in Embedded Software and Software Development for real-time, resource-constrained systems.
* Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering and Electronics for designing, integrating, and testing hardware components.
* Hands-on experience with Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, including device connectivity, protocols, and cloud or edge integration.
* Proficiency with microcontrollers, embedded operating systems, and communication interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Modbus).
* Familiarity with industrial automation, sensors, actuators, and control systems relevant to process or energy industries.
* Ability to read schematics, use diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters), and perform hardware debugging.
* Experience with programming languages commonly used in embedded systems (e.g., C/C++, Python) and version control tools.
* Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in hybrid and cross-functional team settings.
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
