Role Description
This is a part-time, remote position for an Electrical Engineer responsible for the design and documentation of electrical systems for U.S. residential building projects. The role includes performing electrical load calculations, developing panel schedules, single-line diagrams, schematics, and construction drawings, while ensuring designs comply with applicable U.S. codes and standards. The engineer will also coordinate closely with architects, structural and mechanical engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure accurate, efficient, and constructible electrical designs.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering with the ability to apply electrical principles to residential building projects.
- Proficiency in residential electrical design, including load calculations, panel schedules, circuiting, lighting, receptacles, and equipment selection.
- Experience designing residential power distribution systems, including service entrance, panels, feeders, branch circuits, and low-voltage systems.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. electrical codes and standards, particularly the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable residential requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD/BIM and electrical design software for residential construction documents.
- Experience coordinating electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with U.S.-based clients and project teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a remote, multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience with U.S. residential building projects and construction documentation is preferred.
